Touche de Coco (Vida) is sired by Coco Cavalli. Coco's father was the famous Holsteiner Stallion Cheenook. Under Oliver and Katrin Luze, Cheenook competed at the Prix St. Georges level and was trained at Grand Prix level in dressage. Cheenook was mainly a show jumping stallion, however, he was bred to many dressage mares. Coco Cavalli is one of only 2 approved sons of Cheenook and is equally talented in both dressage and jumping. In Germany, as a very young competition horse, he won classes in both disciplines. Since emigrating to the US he has won dressage classes with scores to the mid 73% and has progressed successfully through the Grand Prix of Dressage. The grey Oldenburg stallion has 3 brilliant gaits with enormous expression and to quote Robert Dover of the US Equestrian Team, " Coco shows wonderful talent for the passage and piaffe tour and you will see that he is a very interesting horse to watch for in future competition." Coco Cavalli was second in the breed show for stallions under saddle in his first time at Devon. His conformation is without peer and his temperament and character in trainability and concentration are not to be surpassed. His kindness, forwardness and lightness in hand, combined with a huge desire to please and extraordinary, expressive gaits make him one of the most sought after stallions available. He is extremely comfortable to sit with a big flowing soft swing and wonderful self carriage. He is also very easy to ride.
Vida's dam, Tres Bien, is an interesting combination of Rhodes Scholar as her sire (carrying Rohdiamant and Rubinstein for rideability and dependability, but on her dam side she is a daughter of the very famous Oldenburg mare line of Tantieme. Tantieme won the title of "best of the best" in Germany, after winning her 1d Premium in Warrendorf and representing Germany in the mare show in Belgium, winning Reserve Champion. Her sire is Feiner Stern who is universally acclaimed for siring a top mare line.
Vida's character is fulfilling all expectations of her wonderful bloodlines - a very kind and willing mind that learns quickly. A beautiful and unusual rose grey, Vida is true to her type of the "R" line rideability with the power of the Holsteiner and is continuing to show great natural athletic promise as she matures.
