His sire, Soprano, is a striking and modern black 17.1h stallion who posseses correct conformation and three excellent gaits. Somer's grandsire, Sandro Hit, won the 1999 World Young Horse Champion and Bundeschampionate.  Somer's dam, Caprizi, is a lovely 17.0h mare sired by Hilltop Farm's Royal Prince, who compteted in the 4 & 5 yr old FEI World Championships for Young Horses in Germany. Presently under his rider Chris Hickey, Royal Prince is successfully competing at Prix St George, demonstrating the athleticism that is characteristic of his sire Rohdiamant.
