Socrates is sired by SOPRANO, whose pedigree demonstrates great depth and versatility. Soprano's sire, the legendary 1999 World Young Horse Champion and Bundeschampianate SANDRO HIT, passes on to his progeny the genes of numerous influential stallions. In turn, SANDRO HIT's sire, SANDRO SONG, a double graded champion in Oldenburg, is by SANDRO, an international show jumper who won the Danish Derby ridden by Franke Sloothaak. WELT AS, in SANDRO HIT's third generation, is famous for siring Anke Van Grunsven's Olympic Dressage Champion Bonfire and many other top horses.  SOPRANO'S damsire, the legendary CONTENDER, won his 100 day test, and is one of the most significant sires in Germany. CONTENDER's progeny are characterized by outstanding jumping ability, very good movement, and excellent rideability. SOPRANO's mare line (The Flattopia line) produced many international stars such as dressage horse Rubioso ridden by Ellen Bontje; Lord Kem (Champion Stallion in 1989); Continue; Maffay; Calmiro; and Farmer.

Easy Go, the dam of Socrates, won the Mature Horse Champion at the first ever GOV Oldenburg show in the US.  Her pedigree can be seen on our mare's page and she is a gorgeous mare with a wonderful character and huge movement.  Although the youngest of our foals, Socrates already displays the uphill build, beautiful head, neck and shoulder connection that we are all looking for and has really good overall conformation, with good movement and a sense of presence!  We're very excited about this youngster.
