Our goal is to breed international quality horses suitable for professionals and amateurs alike.  We offer some of the best bloodlines available today, with an emphasis on the importance of the mare line.  The Oldenburg registry in Germany and the North American counterpart provide us with the vital information needed in selecting the best mares that will continue to produce high quality offspring.  We put a lot of thought into choosing top stallions that will best cross with each individual mare.  Our bloodlines certainly do not represent all of the best sporthorses , but the ones that we offer are among the very best.   We hope that you agree!

Vermont Warmbloods was inspired by the need expressed by riders and breeders to be able to find an honest source that can connect them with the quality horses that they seek at realistic prices.  Most of our warmblood horses were either bred here in Vermont or imported to Vermont. Please note that we are willing to negotiate discounts to serious competitors and breeders as your success will contribute to our ultimate goals.  Although we are not brokers, we have added a few horses to our site based on their innate quality and/or performance records.  To further accommodate you, we've added some selected horses that are currently in Europe.  We also have some links to other web sites that we think you might find interesting.

With the  cost of overseas transport increasing steadily, it makes sense to search for your horse here in the USA.  With over 50 years of breeding experience and this having been a passion throughout our lives, we feel qualified to help you find your next horse.  We work with all of our foals and continue to do this throughout their young lives.  This insures that they have a good working and respectful relationship with people. They are trimmed regularly, wormed routinely and kept current on all innoculations.   They have daily turnout so they can build body strength and develop socialization with other horses.  We not only offer our foals at realistic prices, but will occasionally offer in-utero options, for those of you that are pursuing the least expensive route possible.  If you don’t find your future horse on our farm, we will happily direct you through our links to fellow breeders in the United States, with a preference to those that we know and trust.

We also offer imported horses.  We either have pre-selected horses that are currently in Germany or will arrange a visit for you to help you find your equine partner.  We have some trusted excellent and “off-the-beaten-path” contacts, and we travel routinely to Germany where we attend the major events (Stallion show & licensing, Mare Show, Elite Auctions, etc) to keep up with the latest breeding information available.  We'll arrange for x-rays of any animal that interests you on either continent. Our goal is to help you to find the quality you want with the minimum risk possible.

Our mares are all German Oldenburg Verband (GOV) Oldenburgs and carry the blood of such notable sires as Donnerhall, Rubinstein, Feiner Stern, Silvio, Donnerschwee, Grundstein, Brentano, Warkant and Samarant.  On the dam side, our mares trace their bloodlines back to outstanding dams such as Egale, Gelbkatze, Charisma and Tantieme.  We have tried to produce horses with an exceptional combination of movement, athletic ability, temperament, rideability, and, of course, beauty.
